In Bronze gilt, a white enameled Maltese cross with crossed swords, obverse centre with crowned Bulgarian lion on red enamel, green enamel surround inscribed ЗА ХРАБРОСТЪ, reverse centre with cipher of Price Alexander of Battenberg on a red enameled backing, green enamel surround with 1879 date, the cross is surmounted by a wreath suspension, measuring 38.8 mm (w) x 66 mm (h - inclusive of its  wreath suspension), intact enamels, the wreath has been attached by a small wire looped over the pendelia, worn on original trifold ribbon, replacement enamels to the reverse, in better than very fine condition.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFootnote: It was typical of the Republic  period (following September 9, 1944) to use existing decorations and make modifications for conferrals.
