Flight Sub Lieutenant Brimer served from June 1915 to December 1916 with the Royal Naval Air Service. He died on December, 4, 1916, presumed to have drowned while on English Channel Patrol, at the age of 18, two days shy of his nineteenth birthday. He had written \u003cspan class=\"m_3602905707381575696gmail-il\"\u003ea\u003c\/span\u003e letter, that was received after he was reported missing to his parents, informing them of his qualification for \u003cspan class=\"m_3602905707381575696gmail-il\"\u003ea\u003c\/span\u003e commission in the R.N.\u003cspan class=\"m_3602905707381575696gmail-il\"\u003eA\u003c\/span\u003e.S at the head of his class.
