NSDAP Party Ortsgruppe Political Leader's Visor Cap, Named
This fine quality cap has three rows of blue piping, indicative of an Ortsgruppe (Local Group), with the body of the cap fabricated from a brown wool-cotton blend, featuring the classic high peak and rounded saddle-shaped sides. It has a dark brown velvetine band around its circumference, which supports a two-piece constructed aluminum cockade on the front. The cockade has an enamelled red rayed base incorporating a silvered ring and a raised silver centre with a black swastika in the centre, surrounded by a bronze-coloured wreathing. Immediately above on the crown is a silvered bronze NSDAP cap eagle insignia, which features very intricate detail. The visor is a dark brown vulcanfibre with a silver bullion cord above, in two rows, knotted in the appropriate-style on the sides and held in position via pebbled gilt posts on both sides. The underside of the visor is synthetic, crosshatched and finished in tan. The interior comes with a simulated tan leather headband embossed with a circle just to the left of the front inscribed "DEUTSCH LEDER" (German Leather). The dome is fabricated from a gold-coloured rayon, size stamped "56" on the paper tag inside the diamond-shaped clear moisture shield and is named in red ink handwritting "Gruber Franz" beside the shield. The cap measures 240 mm x 280 mm x 150 mm in height, with staining on the top, on the headband and the underside of the visor, minor fabric interruptions near the peak and in the piping, plus intermittent moth holes, light wear on the eagle cap insignia, quality stitching on all seams, in very fine condition.
