What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Twenty-Two Percent (22%) of the Hammer Price

A Queen's Own Rifles of Canada Sergeant-Major's Busby

A Queen's Own Rifles of Canada Sergeant-Major's Busby - Exterior sides of the Busby in bear fur over a cork frame and the top in black felt, featuring a 56 mm x 66 mm blackened bronze cap badge, the oval centrepiece with a red felt background fronted by a brass number "2", the upper tip of the badge with partial gilt loss exposing the bronze base. Blackened bronze five petal rose cockades on either side, the left one held firmly held in place with its original rivet and support plate on the underside, the right one held in place via dual brass prongs, the original hardware having been lost to time. The cockades support a blackened bronze chain link chin strap with a black leather backer, looped to the cockade on the left side, fed through a hook on the right cockade and terminating at the back, attached to a blackened bronze five petal rose cockade with hook, held in place by its riveted brass support plate on the underside. There are four circular metal seven-hole cluster ventilation disks, two on top placed at the front and back, the other two on either side of the busby, all held in place via six protruding prongs on the circular their metal frames. Two-level black and red horsehair plume with restraining ring protruding from a blackened bronze ball and multi-rayed base, the ball encasing a long brass tab, which slides into the top between the front ventilation disk and the top edge of the busby. Interior is lined in a faded black cloth, with a 45 mm wide leather sweatband, the ends stitched together at the rear, with drawstring, a partial Hobson & Sons maker label glued to the dome, incorporating the size mark "7" in blue ink which is still clearly visible, the Busby measuring 190 mm x 255 mm x 145 mm in height overall.  The leather chain backer and the leather sweatband are exhibiting the expected wear from active use, with a lateral tear in the sweatband and severing of the drawstring at the front, in addition to soiling and wear on the exterior on the right side and on the top. Near very fine.
