Naval Dagger by PUMA, Solingen
This dagger features a beautifully engraved 250 mm nickel-plated steel blade. With unsharpened edges, it remains clean, crisp, and in excellent condition. The blade's reverse ricasso is maker marked PUMA SOLINGEN with the company's puma emblem, while the blade itself exhibits a beautifully engraved ornate design on both sides. There is only the usual minor wear on both sides, along with some very light surface scarring. Nevertheless it exhibits a natural shine, in stands near mint condition. The fittings are gilded brass (gilt mostly worn off) bearing an anchor on both sides of the cross guard, exhibiting good detail and high relief, with a blade release button. The off-white synthetic grip is smooth and free of chipping, along with being tightly wrapped with twisted brass wire. The pommel exhibits the Naval eagle standing upon a wreathed swastika. Both crossguard and pommel present nice patinas, with the hilt completed by an original silver bullion portepee. The ornately designed scabbard appears with a couple of small dents at the narrow section. Overall this dagger grades as very fine to extremely fine condition.
