Naval Badge of Croatian Naval Legion 1942-43 - Badge was introduced in 1942 and was worn by the members of Croatian Naval Legion. Croatian Naval Legion was involved in the Eastern (Russian) front as part of the German Naval group 'Unterseebootjagerflotille 23' at the Black Sea during 1942-43. Legions commander was Andro Vrkljan, and duties of the Legion included escort, minesweeping and alike. Badge was awarded after 2 months of active service. This is an early example of this badge in silvered bronze and enamels with wide vertical pin, measuring 36.5 x 49.60 mm. Unmarked, although these badges were made only by Zagreb's maker "Braca Knaus"'. Slightly worn, in very fine condition.
