Germany, Imperial. A Pilot’s Flight Helmet & Goggles, Flieger-Bataillon Nr. 1

(Fliegerhelm und Schutzbrille). A lot of Imperial German aviation equipment, including a Pilot’s Flight Helmet, constructed of dark brown leather, lined with a plaid-patterned cotton material, with a two-piece chin strap in dark brown leather, with ten holes for length adjustment, with a magnetic metal buckle stitched in place on the other side of the chin strap, measuring, when folded, 23.5 cm (w) x 30 cm (h), and in near very fine condition. A set of flight goggles, constructed of large, elliptical curved lenses set into a light metal frame, lined in fur, stitched to an elastic eye piece, the two lenses join across the bridge of the goggles by a small brown leather linking the two eye pieces together, with an adjustable, elasticated head strap constructed of tan material, and in very fine condition. Accompanied by a framed, black-and-white portrait of a pilot wearing the flight helmet and goggles, in uniform, bearing shoulder straps indicating Flieger-Bataillon Nr. 1, measuring 18.7 cm (w) x 24 cm (h), and in better than very fine condition.
