(Abzeichen). 1) A patriotic badge constructed of magnetic medal, the obverse shows a black enamelled cross pattée over a red enamelled field, surrounded by the words “GOTT MIT UNS 1914,” the reverse smooth except for the inscription “GES. GESCHUTZT,” a horizontal pinback, measures 20.29 mm (w) x 22.04 mm (h), and in fine condition. 2) A gilded badge of multi-piece construction, the obverse shows a black-enamelled cross pattée, with the words “GOTT MIT UNS 1914” in each of the arms, a central medallion shows the profiles of Franz Joseph and Wilhelm, the reverse presents a horizontal pinback, measures 33.34 mm (w) x 31.82 mm (h), and in extremely fine condition. 3) A bronze, diamond shaped badge, striped background, a central oval shows “GOTT MIT VNS,” the reverse presents a horizontal pinback, measures 38.12 mm (w) x 24.28 mm (h), and in very fine condition. 4) A silver, diamond shaped badge, striped background, a central oval shows “GOTT MIT VNS,” the reverse presents a horizontal pinback, measures 38.08 mm (w) x 24.26 mm (h), and in very fine condition. 

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society. His knowledge and passion for history and awards is evident in this meticulously compiled collection that is now available in its entirety for the first time exclusively on eMedals.com.
