France, II Empire. An Expedition to Mexico Commemorative Medal 1862-1863
(Médaille commémorative de l'expédition du Mexique). Instituted in 1863. In silver, engraver marked "BARRE" on the obverse, hallmarked with an eagle's head on the reverse, measuring 30 mm (w) x 34.5 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension, exhibiting edge nicks and spotting, original ribbon with an embroidered design bearing the Mexican eagle with snake, better than very fine.
