(Nishoni Bukhoroi Sharif). Instituted in 1881. Insignia in silver with light blue and dark blue enamels, mounted to a eight-pointed Gold star base, each star point with seven rays emanating from the centre, marked with the zolotniki fineness number "56" (14K Gold) beside the kokoshnik mark and maker marked in Russian "ДO" (DO = Dimitry Osipov) on the reverse, measuring 73.5 mm (w) x 73 mm (h), vertical pinback, intact enamels, near mint. In its hardshelled case of issue, red paper exterior, inside lid in white satin, padded and maker marked Д. ОСИПОВЪ ЕКАТЕРИН.КАН.42 С. ПЕТЕРБУРГЪ." (D. Osipov, St. Petersburg), the lining exhibiting the impression of the breast star, slotted maroon velvet medal bed, scuffed exterior, light wear in the fabric overlying the hinged area, case very fine. Footnote: The Order of the Noble Bukhara was established by Emir Muzzaffar-ad-din in 1881, in honour of the Emperor Alexander II of Russia. Initially its insignia was only a star, but in 1893, it was supplemented with a badge and sash after Abdalakhada's visit to Russia. It was issued in seven classes: one in Diamonds, three in Gold in three degrees, and three in Silver in three degrees.
