In silver gilt, measuring 39 mm (w) x 39.3 mm (h), scattered gilt wear evident on the reverse, contact marks, original ribbon with hook and eye, better than very fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, marked with the cypher of King Michael I (reign: July 20, 1927 to June 8, 1930 and again from September 6, 1940 until his forced abdication on December 30, 1947) and inscribed "Crucea Regina Maria Cl. II" in gold-coloured ink on the lid, maker marked "MONETARIA NATIONALA" (National Mint) on the white satin inside lid, measuring 62 mm (w) x 117 mm (h) x 20.3 mm (d), lightly soiled gray cloth medal bed, light wear on the exterior, case also better than very fine.
