What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

WWI Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) Glengarry Cap

WWI Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) Glengarry Cap - This glengarry cap has a finely textured, black wool upper, with a 22 mm wide black reinforced ribbed border along the open end, a white metal Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) Glengarry Badge surmounting a large black rosette on the left side, topped by a red toorie, with dual black ribbons sewn together at the rear. The inside is lined in dark green cotton, stamped on the right side in red ink with the British Broad Arrow production insignia, a "7" above plus a "1" and "8" below, measuring 100 mm x 285 mm. Repair is evident along the dome seam on both the exterior and interior, light contact and wear on the badge, light soiling overall, maintaining its original period look, near extremely fine.Footnote: During World War I, the twenty-five battalions of the Black Watch fought mainly in France and Flanders, except for the 2nd Battalion, which fought in Mesopotamia and Palestine, and the 10th Battalion, which was in the Balkans. Only the 1st and 2nd Battalions were regulars. The rest were either part of the Territorial Force of the New Army. The Black Watch served with the British 51st (Highland) Division. (C:11)
