Germany, Luftwaffe. A Reconnaissance Squadron Clasp, Gold Grade, with 300 Hanger
(Frontflugspange für Aufklärer in Gold mit Anhänger). Constructed of gilded zink, the centre obverse presents a left-facing eagle head surrounded by a wreath of laurel leaves featuring a static swastika at the bottom, with nine oak leaves on either side of the wreath, with a hanger formerly suspended from the bottom of the clasp for the completion of 300 flights, the reverse plain, with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a round wire catch, measuring 75.91 mm (w) x 25.57 mm (h), weighing 25.0 grams grams, the clips formerly attaching the “300” hanger have broke, otherwise in very fine condition.
