Germany, Luftwaffe. A Rare Pilot’s Badge, Aluminum Version, with Photo

Constructed of aluminum, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, tied together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a patianted, swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, with two visible rivets holding the obverse eagle in place, unmarked, measuring 65.73 mm (w) x 52.50 mm (h), weighing 13.2 grams, part of the catch has been broken off, a rare aluminum example in otherwise near extremely fine condition, accompanied by a studio photo of the recipient, seated in the uniform of an Obergefreiter, with a Flight Personnel arm patch, wearing a DRL Sports Badge, unmarked and undated, measuring 86 mm (w) x 135 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
