Germany, Wehrmacht. A General Assault Badge, Special Grade 25, Rudolf Karneth

Constructed of silvered and patinated zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a plaque bearing a number “25” around a central raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, in turn situated above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with four visible rivets securing the obverse features in place, with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback, maker marked with the logo of “RUDOLF KARNETH, GABLONZ”, measuring 48.38 mm (w) x 58.03 mm (h), weighing 35.3 grams, the catch is missing and minor oxidation is evident to the base metal, in very fine condition.
