Germany, Wehrmacht. A Narvik Shield
(Narvikschild). Constructed of zink, the obverse with a shield bearing an edelweiss (representing the Heer), a propeller (representing the Luftwaffe), and an anchor (representing the Kriegsmarine), flanked by a date of “1940”, topped by a plaque inscribed “Narvik”, beneath a German national eagle clutching a wreathed swastika, the reverse with two of four attachment prongs intact, unmarked, measuring 42 mm (w) x 90 mm (h), in very fine condition.
