Constructed of silvered magnetic iron, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse with a central Olympic column and rings, overlaid by a NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika and flanked by a date of “1936”, the reverse with an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTVOLLE MITARBEIT BEI DEN OLYMPISCHEN SPIELEN 1936” (“FOR MERITORIOUS ASSISTANCE TO THE OLYMPIC GAMES 1936”), unmarked, measuring 37.05 mm in diameter, weighing 20.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux white leather exterior, the exterior lid with gold embossed Olympic rings and a gold border, the interior with a light grey satin lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a depressed grey velvet medal bed, opening with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 66 mm (w) x 110 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), minor loss of finish and material fatigue evident to the metal and case, respectively, in overall near extremely fine condition.
