A Motorized Panzer Police Lieutenant (Leutnant) Officer's Uniform

Includes two pieces: tunic and trousers. The tunic is fabricated from a fine green wool, the shoulders adorned with Lieutenant's (Leutnant) shoulder boards, each board incorporating with four rows of gray threading interlaced with dark green threading, wrapped around white cord, in a chevron formation, with a loop creating a button hole for uniform attachment at the neck end, on an emerald green wool base, each of the loops with a silvered magnetic metal button with a pebbled upper securing the board to the tunic. Both sides of the collar at the opening have collar tabs with rank insignia in light gray and greenish-gray embroidery, on a green wool base, the outer edge of which is trimmed in emerald green embroidered cord, representative of the position of Junior Patrolman to Patrolman (Unterwachtmeister to Meister), designated for men and NCOs. There is a hook and eye at the opening of the collar, ensuring a snug fit at the neck line. The upper left sleeve has a Police badge in gray, black and bluish-green embroidery sewn in place. There are three small black plastic buttons sewn in place above four large black plastic buttons on the far right side, facing seven reinforced button holes on the left side, the three smaller button holes at the top extending from the collar to the mid-point of the tunic, the four larger button holes discreetly hidden behind an integral flap. In addition, there are two additional small black plastic buttons sewn in place at the opening on the right side. The exterior is designed without pockets. The left breast has three horizontally-aligned vertical loops in brown threading for the placement of a ribbon bar, along with two pairs of two vertically-aligned horizontal loops, one pair in brown threading, the other pair in green threading, each for the placement of awards, all of which have been lost to time. The sleeves have vented button down cuffs, each with two silvered zinc buttons and a single reinforced button hole on a discreetly hidden brown cotton flap. The inside is lined in brown cotton panels on both the right and left sides and around the armpits, the right side panel with a large top side entry pocket, the left side panel with a side entry pocket that is stamped with the Berlin-based tailor's mark in black ink "Roger Kauert K.G." on the lip on the underside of the pocket, and has a small tab with a reinforced button hole protruding from it. Above the pocket, the left side panel is stamped in black ink with a rectangular box inscribed "POL.BA." above the date "1943", with additional numerical stampings below, including "102" surrounded by, clockwise from the top left "45, 46, 62, 66". There are straps in brown cotton extending downward from the armpits, each with four reinforced holes in black threading, one of which lines up with a hole on an adjacent narrow brown cotton panel, the hole terminating on the exterior of the tunic. The back of the tunic comes with green cotton ties protruding from either side of a brown cotton strap, the collar with a brown cotton strap for hanging the tunic from a hook. The tunic measures 500 mm across the shoulders and 590 mm in length overall, exhibiting scattered mothing on the exterior. The trousers are fabricated from a fine green wool, matching that used on the tunic, designed with a button down fly, incorporating four silvered zinc buttons on the right side, facing an equal number of reinforced button holes on the right side, discreetly hidden under a flap. Just above at the waist on the right side are two reinforced button holes, facing two black finished magnetic metal buttons just inside the opening on the left side. It has five pockets, deep side-entry pockets on both sides at the front, the right front pocket with a smaller pocket immediately to the left, along with top entry pockets at the rear, one on each side, all four larger pockets with fold over button down flaps with reinforced button holes and plastic buttons, the pockets lined in thick white cotton. There is a three-prong magnetic metal buckle held in place via a green cotton strap to the left of the opening at the front and when fed through the green cotton belt strap sewn in place to the right of the opening, ensures a snug fit at the waistline. The trousers come with eight sage green cotton belt straps sewn in place around the circumference of the pants, the first strap on the right with a magnetic ring sewn in place, the two straps at the centre rear wrapping around to the inside of the trousers, secured by a horizontal strap and finished with black finished magnetic metal buttons. The legs have vented button down cuffs, each with a silvered zinc button and a single reinforced button hole, along with a sage green cotton tie fed through a reinforced button hole at the opening, the underside of the cuff reinforced by a 32 mm wide band of brown cotton. Inside, the waist is lined in a 60 mm wide band of thick white cotton, with two black finished magnetic metal buttons on either side at the front, along with being stamped in black ink on the right side with the numerals "83" and "84" above "118" and "112" beside a rectangular box inscribed "POL.BA." above the date "1943". The right side of the fly opening is reinforced with a 60 mm band of brown cotton, stamped in black ink with the Berlin-based tailor's mark in black ink "Roger Kauert K.G." where it butts the thick white cotton waistband. The trousers measure 390 mm in width x 1,140 mm in length, exhibiting scattered mothing on the exterior, the magnetic metal ring on the exterior belt strap with surface rust, which has offset onto the thick white cotton waistband on the interior. Both the tunic and the trousers display a nice texture in the wool, quality workmanship, intact stitching and are very clean. Near extremely fine. (C:100)
