A Luftwaffe Officer’s Tunic constructed of blue-grey wool/rayon blend fabric with grey gabardine lining, shoulders adorned with golden yellow trimmed shoulder straps with stitched reinforced buttoning holes secured with a single silver colored pebbled shank button, notched collar with golden yellow cord trim on upper, with golden yellow collar tabs with one rank “gull” to each, metal hook and loop on collar, five silver colored pebbled buttons on front centre left with corresponding reinforced buttoning holes on the front centre right, breast box pleat pocket on the left and right sides, measuring 116.84 mm (w) x 146.05 mm (h), left breast pocket bears a breast eagle (a Luftwaffe eagle with outstretched wings clutching a swastika in its talons) constructed of silver/grey colored thread machine embroidered on a blue-grey wool base, measuring 91.44 mm (w), above the right breast pocket is a Sudetenland medal ribbon bar, measuring 23.82 mm (w), four thread knots are on the right breast side, waist box pleat pocket on the left and right sides, measuring 228.6 mm (w) x 228.6 mm (h), the inside of all the exterior pockets have “872” stamped on the flap in black, the sleeves are cuffed at the wrists, the left and right sides bear four lines of stitching, lower slit in centre back, the inside collar has five brown flat four hole buttons, the inside is lined with grey gabardine fabric, inner breast pocket on the right with “BULAO 42 42 90 71 63 29” stamped above in black, illegible stamp on inner breast pocket, two tabs on the inner left and right side with six reinforced stitched holes, slim pocket with reinforced stitched buttoning hole and single brown flat four hole button on inner lower left side, measuring 469.9 mm across shoulders, 635 mm from shoulder to cuff, 698.5 mm total length, very fine.
