What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Germany, Heer. An EM/NCO’s Assault Gun Wrap

(Sturmgeschütze Waffenrock). This is an extremely well-preserved Heer Assault Gun wrap, constructed of black wool. The collar is fully trimmed with red piping, and if flanked on each side by tabs. The latter consist of a black wool base, trimmed with red piping, and are pinned with a silvered zink Heer-style Totenkopf. Each tab measures 38 mm (w) x 70 mm (l). Each shoulder is adorned with a strap, constructed of black wool and trimmed with red piping, which is attached to the wrap by machine stitching at the outer edge and by a reinforced buttonhole meeting a pebbled zink button on the interior edge. Each strap measures 46 mm (w) x 112 mm (l). The cuff of each sleeve has a vertical slit closed with a reinforced buttonhole meeting dual horizontally-arranged black bakelite buttons, allowing for an adjustable fit. Stitched onto the right breast flap is a post war reapplied insignia in the form of a white machine-embroidered Wehrmacht eagle on a black cotton backer, measuring 100 mm (w) x 40 mm (h). The wrap is close by an array of eight black bakelite buttons on the right breast flap meeting a corresponding array of reinforced buttonholes on the left flap. The interior of the wrap features a partial charcoal-grey rayon liner, forming a pocket on the right flap, with integrated ribbons of identical construction emanating from each side. The collar features an integrated rayon loop for suspension, as well as a magnetic metal hook and clasp facilitating a flush fit with the wearer’s neck. The tunic is unmarked and measures approximately 460 mm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 660 mm and an overall body length of 620 mm. Minor material fatigue is evident, but the wrap is in an otherwise extremely fine condition.
