Germany, Heer. An Army M43 Tropical Artillery Enlisted Man’s Tunic

(Heer Waffenrock). A Second War German Heer (Army) tunic fabricated from olive green cotton, with five pebbled, silver-coloured metal buttons bordering the breast and meeting an equal number of reinforced button holes on the opposite side. The collar presents matching collar tabs in greyish-blue embroidered fabric with three gold-coloured vertical stripes, measuring 20 mm (w) x 64 mm (h). Each shoulder features a pebbled, silvered metal button and cotton loop for housing shoulder boards. The right breast features a tropical breast eagle constructed of matching blueish-grey and tropical-coloured machine-embroidery, measuring 41 mm (w) x 47 mm (h). The front has four pockets, each with a fold over the flap with a reinforced button hole and housing a pebbled, silvered metal button. On the interior, there is a deep narrow pocket sewn in place immediately inside the opening on the right side, the pocket with a small bakelite button and reinforced button hole. There are thick grey cotton straps sewn below each armpit, each strap with reinforced eyelets, the bottom three line up with the eyelets on either side at the waist on the exterior. In addition, there is a loop sewn at the back of the collar for hanging the tunic from a hook. The digits “41 95 70 58 U43” are stamped inside the right breast. On the inside pocket is the serial number “O/O250/0274.” The inside pocket also includes a tailor receipt with the following information,“Verknöpfen 418,” “Auftrags-Nr. 0024,” and “Komm.-Nr. 5394.” The tunic measures approximately 457.20 mm across the shoulders, 736.60 mm in length, and 558.80 mm in the sleeves. The tunic is in better than extremely fine condition.
