Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, Grand Duchy. A General Honour Medal in Silver with Sword Clasp
(Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen in Silber mit Schwerterspange). Instituted 25 June 1902 by Grand Duke Wilhelm Ernst. (1914-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with sword clasp, the obverse with a raised leftward-facing profile of Grand Duke Wilhelm Ernst, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with an inscription of “DEM VERDIENSTE 1914” (“FOR MERIT 1914”), within an oak leaf wreath, unmarked, the medal measuring 35.63 mm in diameter, the clasp measuring 45.03 mm (w) x 17.94 mm (h), weighing 26.0 grams overall, in near extremely fine condition.
