(Bayerisch-Königlicher Verdienstorden vom Heiligen Michael Ritterkreuz 2. Klasse). Instituted 29 September 1693. (1837-1887 Issue). Composed of a Gold Cross Pattée with blue enamels, hollow with lightning bolts emanating from the centre, the obverse with a central blue enameled medallion inscribed “QUIS UT DEUS?” (“WHO IS LIKE GOD?”) in gold lettering, the reverse with a similar central blue enameled medallion inscribed “VIRTUTI” (“VIRTUE”), on loop for suspension, unmarked, measuring 15.04 mm (w) x 26.75 mm (h) and weighing 2.8 grams, in extremely fine condition.
