(Feldmütze). A Kriegsmarine Coastal Artillery Overseas cap constructed of field-grey wool/rayon blend, featuring a fold down side and back panels with gently sloping, downward scallops to the front and forward sides, the front centre of the cap features a machine-woven national eagle in golden-yellow thread on a cut-out woven, blue-green rayon base, the front centre of the fold-down panel features a machine-woven national tri-colour cockade, on a woven, diamond-shaped, blue-green rayon base, machine-stitched to the cap, the cockade is flanked by a golden-yellow rayon, inverted “V” soutache, the interior of the cap is fully lined in grey cotton-rayon blend material, maker marked in a black ink stamp labeled “L. L. GEN. MÜTZEN NIEDERSACHSEN HERSTELLER” and dated “1941,” the cap measures 26 cm (w) x 11 cm (h), and in near mint condition.
