A Kriegsmarine EM/NCO’s M41 Tropical Field Cap
A wonderfully preserved Kriegsmarine Tropenfelddienstmütze; constructed of ribbed cotton twill with gently sloping stitching running down the side panels towards a scalloped front. The cap features two plain ventilation grommets on each side in between the top crown and scalloped edged seam. The front center of the cap features a machine woven national eagle in a golden/yellow threads on a embroidered tan rayon backer, positioned immediately above a machine woven national tri-colour (black-white-red) cockade on a woven tan rayon diamond base. The insignia is original to the cap and appears to be hand stitched to the cap. The cap also features a visor extending outwards from the front of the cap, constructed of matching tan cotton twill, with an internal cardboard supports. The interior of the cap is lined in a forest green cotton, stitched into place with tan threads. The cap measures approximately 260 mm x 190 mm. Very clean and complete example with only some very minor flaws to the outside liner due to age and wear. The insignia in the front center are in overall very good condition with only a small moth nip in the cockade. Overall better than very fine condition.
