What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Germany, Heer. An Infantry Officer’s M38 Overseas Cap

(Heer Schiffchen für Offiziere). Constructed of field-grey wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold-down side panels, secured in place at the front by machine stitching. A band of silver aluminum wire piping fully surrounds the crown, as well as the front of the panels, indicating Officer issue. Each side features a ventilation hole reinforced with a grey-painted zink eyelet. The peak bears an insignia in the form of a field-grey rayon backer overlaid by a machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika. The eagle insignia measures 65 mm (w) x 28 mm (h). Underneath the eagle is a multi-coloured wire cockade with a red felt centrepiece, measuring 24 mm in diameter. Stitched around the cockade is a white soutache, indicating Infantry personnel. The interior features a complete grey rayon liner, with a silver size stamp of “60”. It also bears a brown leather sweatband, which encompasses the forehead. The cap measures 295 mm (l) x 120 mm (h) when folded. The cap is free of evident faults and is in an extremely fine condition.
