An SA Musik Korps Kettle Drum Skirt
Upside down pentagon shaped SA Musik Korps kettle drum skirt crafted out of bright red fabric mounted on a coarse cloth/buckram-type material with a black fabric backer. The obverse of the drum skirt is decorated with 8 mm wide silver bullion trim running along four sides of the drum skirt, approximately 5 mm from the edges, and a piece of 12 mm silver bullion trim, running along the top of the upside down pentagon, approximately 2 mm from the edge. The face of the drum skirt features an SA Eagle clutching an oak leaf wreath with a swastika positioned in the centre of the wreath, crafted out of fine silver bullion wire for the body of the eagle, wreath, and swastika, and black thread for the outlining of the shapes. The angled sides of the drum skirt are decorated with silver bullion wire fringes approximately 42 mm long. Both sides are open with stitching having come apart, presumably from when the drum skirt was separated. Some green corrosion on the bullion eagle from age, as well as some black staining on select spots. Kettle drum skirt measures 440 mm x 345 mm, not including its fringes; overall very fine condition.
