An uncommon Antifaschistische Aktion Pennant, constructed of a single red folded triangular cotton, with white printed circle with “Antifaschistische Aktion” inside on the obverse, and white printed communist star with hammer and sickle in the center on the reverse. This piece measures approximately 280 mm x 205 mm, and is in overall extremely fine condition, with only a small stain on the obverse and a light white paint smudge (presumably from the maker) on the reverse.
Footnote: The first Antifaschistische Aktion was proclaimed by the German Communist Party in July 1932 in reaction to the banning of the Rotfrontkämpferbund by the NSDAP just months before. After a forceful dissolution by the NSDAP in 1933, the movement was revived during the 1980’s.
