A Prussian medal bar with four medals, awards, and decorations, consisting of 1) An Iron Cross 1870 Second Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1870 2. Klasse). A a cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a ribbed border; on loop for suspension; with its period original ribbon; the obverse with a raised central “W”, with the re-institution date “1870” in raised numbering on the lower arm, and the royal crown on the upper arm; the reverse with a central oak-leaf branch consisting of three oak leaves, with the original institution date “1813” in raised numbers on the lower arm, a raised Prussian crown on the upper arm, with “FW” in equally raised lettering directly below; measuring 41.65 mm (w) x 41.60 mm (h); weighing 17.3 grams. 2) A War Commemorative Medal of 1870/71 (Kriegsdenkmünze für die Feldzüge 1870/71). A round bronze medal; the obverse depicting the crowned cipher of Kaiser William, inscribed “Dem Siegreichen Heere”, circumscribed “Gott war mit uns, Ihm sei die Ehre” (German - God was with us, he should be honoured); the reverse dated “1870/1871” within a laurel wreath that is superimposed on a cross pattee; on a loop for suspension; measuring 29.06 mm in diameter; weighing 14.0 grams. 3) A Kaiser Wilhelm Centennial Medal (Kaiser Wilhelm Erinnerungsmedaille-Zentenarmedaille); a gilt bronze medal; the obverse with a leftward facing bust of Kaiser Wilhelm, inscribed “Wilhelm der Grosse Deutscher Kaiser, Koenig von Preussen” (German - Wilhelm the Great German Kaiser, King of Prussia); the reverse inscribed “Zum andenken an den hundertsten Geburtstag des Grossen Kaisers Wilhelm I, 1797 - 22 Maerz 1897 (German - In remembrance of the one hundreth birthday of Wilhelm I); measuring 40.08 mm in diameter; weighing 34.3 grams. 4) An Oldenburg Honour Cross 2. Class with Swords (Ehrenkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern); A hollow silver Maltese cross with crossed swords between the arms of the cross; the obverse depicting the crowned cipher of Ludwig, circumscribed “EIN GOTT, EIN RECHT, EINE WAHRHEIT” (German - One God, One Justice, One Truth); the reverse depicting the Oldenburg coat of arms; measuring 35.21 mm (w) x 34.96 mm (h); weighing 8.2 grams; all suspended from a medal bar, featuring period original ribbons - the Iron Cross ribbon with 25-Year Jubilee Oakleaves attached, and the 1870/71 Commemroative War Medal with campaign ribbon bars for “Paris”, “Metz”, “Gravelkotte St. Privat”, “Colombey Nouilly”, and “Spicheren”; with a red wool backer and a horizontal pinback; measuring 135 mm (w) x 42 mm (h); in overall better than very fine condition.
