(Offizierstellvertreter Unterarzt): Wide strip of fine silver bullion wire, interlaced with red and black threading, in a u-shape, sewn in place to the black wool upper, a gilt bronze snake and caduceus insignia in the centre, button hole for uniform attachment and housing a brass button bearing an anchor surmounted by the Imperial crown, the button vaulted, maker marked "ASSMANN & SE LÜDENSCHEID" and marked "K.D. above "M." on the reverse, black wool underside, 39.5 mm x 96 mm each, patches of dried glue residue on the undersides from previous board mounting, extremely fine.
