A Wehrpass & Document Group to a Front line Soldier Killed in Russia

Grouping which came through a friend directly from the original owner’s family in Germany. This Feldwebel who was a frontline soldier was killed in Russia. The grouping includes a nicely filled out Wehrpass with riveted photo; a photo of the original owner wearing his awards also showing his Iron Cross 1st Class; a 1942 dated letter to his wife in which his CO tells of his death at Terek on the Eastern Front; a marriage document issued on the Eastern Front for his marriage dated in April 1942; and lastly a 1935 dated letter. The Wehrpass issue date is in April 1936. It has a very nice riveted photo. He is shown as being in 3 different Infantry Regiments. He participated in the Austrian Entry in March 1938. He also fought in the Campaign in the West before being transferred to Russia. At the time of his death he was in IR117 which was under the 111th Infantry Division. This Division saw heavy fighting at Kiev, Shitomir, Donez and the Kaukasus region. He trained on the K-98 rifle, the MG-34 machine gun, and the Luger pistol. It shows he was awarded a shooting award for 1937/38. Other awards listed include; the 13-03-1938 Entry into Austria Medal; the Westwall Medal; both the Iron Cross 2nd and 1st Classes; the Infantry Assault Badge; and the Eastern Front Medal of 1941/42. He was killed at Mosdok in Terek in September 1942. This is nicely noted in the Wehrpass as well as the accompanying letter. In all 24 pages have entries of some sort.
