What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

The collection consists of: an Iron Cross 2nd Class award document (139x201mm, very fine); a Paratrooper Badge award document (148x209mm, very fine); a promotion document to Stabsfeldwebel (Senior Master Sergeant) (210x297mm, fine); a promotion document to Oberfeldwebel (211x297mm, near very fine); a Marksmanship Lanyard 1st Grade award document (422x319mm, very fine); a 4th Class Long Service award document (211x298mm, near very fine); a shooting competition document (209x148mm, very fine). The collection is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Detlev Niemann.

1) The Iron Cross 2nd Class document is named to Stabsfeldwebel Langner of the 6th Company of Fallschirmjäger Regiment 8. It is dated to August 8, 1944 and signed in green ink by the Commander of the 3rd Fallschirmjäger Division, Lieutenant General Richard Schimpf (1897–1972), a recipient of the Knight’s Cross.

2) The Paratrooper Badge document is named to Feldwebel (Sergeant) or the Reserve Langner. It is dated to Berlin on June 28, 1943 and carries a facsimile of Chief of the Luftwaffe Personnel Department, Colonel General Bruno Loerzer.

3)The promotion document Stabsfeldwebel is named to Langner of the 1st Company of Fallschirmjäger Driver Training Battalion. The promotion is effective November 1, 1943. The document is dated to Brunswick on November 6, 1943 and signed by proxy for the Commander of the Complementary Units and Schools of the 11th Aerial Corps by an Oberstleutnant (Lieutenant Colonel) named Borchardt.

4) The promotion document to Oberfeldwebel is named to Langner of the 1st Company of Fallschirmjäger Driver Training Battalion Helmstedt. The promotion is effective August 1, 1943. The document is dated to July 30, 1943 and signed in the same manner as the promotion document to Stabsfeldwebel.

5) The Marksmanship Lanyard 1st Grade document is named to Feldwebel Langner of Pilot Training Regiment 53 for proven proficiency in rifle shooting. It is dated to November 1, 1941 and signed by a Senior Lieutenant named Ramm.

6) The 4th Class Long Service document is named to Obergefreiter Langner of Reconnaissance Group 114 Münster. It is dated to October 2, 1936 and signed in black ink by the Higher Aviator Commander of Aerial District IV, Major General Alfred Keller (1882–1974), a recipient of the Pour le Mérite and the Knight’s Cross.

7) The shooting competition document is named to Unteroffizier (NCO) Langner of the 1st Pilot Replacement Battalion 82 in Quakenbrück. For accomplishments in marksmanship, Langner is awarded an unspecified commemorative prize. The document is dated to Brunswick in January of 1939. It is signed in black ink by the Commanding General and Commander-in-Chief of Luftwaffe Group 2, Hellmuth Felmy (1885–1965), a recipient of the German Cross in Gold.

Footnote: Fallschirmjäger Regiment 8 was established in March of 1944 in Reims, France. It was tasked to repel part of the D-Day Normandy landing parties, and later fought in Operation Market Garden.The regiment also took part in the Battle of the Bulge. Afterwards, it defended against US forces pushing onto German soil, and surrendered in mid April of 1945.
