What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

An award document for a SS Long Service Medal, IV Class for 4 Years, constructed of off-white paper stock with black ink, named to Auer as a SS-Unterscharführer in Vienna, dated 4 May 1940, featuring a facsimile signature of the Führer, measuring 208 mm (w) x 294 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

An award document for an Infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade, constructed of off-white paper stock with black ink, named to Auer as a SS-Untersturmführer of Stab. 9, Polizei-Infanterie-Regiment 2, dated 1 November 1941, featuring a handwritten signature of SS-Brigadeführer and Generalmajor Walter Krüger (Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords), measuring 148 mm (w) x 210 mm (h), with a central folding crease evident, in overall extremely fine condition.

An award document for a 1939 Iron Cross, I Class, constructed of off-white paper stock with black ink, named to Auer as a SS-Obersturmführer of Stab. 2, SS-Polizei-Infanterie-Regiment 2, dated 17 February 1942, featuring a handwritten signature of SS-Brigadeführer and Generalmajor Alfred Wünneberg (Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves), measuring 148 mm (w) x 210 mm (h), with a central folding crease evident, in overall extremely fine condition.

The group also includes a lot of private original photographs of from Auer’s estate, including a set of five large photographs of a group outing, all unmarked and undated, measuring 114 mm (w) x 82 mm (h), in overall extremely fine condition; a set of six small photographs of a group outing, all unmarked and undated, measuring 100 mm (w) x 70 mm (h), in overall extremely fine condition, and; four assorted photographs of Auer, all unmarked and undated, in overall extremely fine condition.
