The two notes are accompanying letters to awards received by Gefreiter (lance corporal) Kurt Marschall. They were sent by Bau-Pionier Ersatz und Ausbildungs-Bataillon (construction sapper replacement and training battalion) 28, both dated to Schieratz/Wartheland (present-day Sieradz, central Poland). The first note was accompanying the Eastern Front Medal, dated to 20 December 1943 (with typo “1934”). The second note was accompanying the Demjansk Shield and is dated to 27 May 1944. Both notes are signed by the same Hauptmann (captain), the signature is illegible.
Both notes glued to the same piece of paper, measuring 148 mm (w) x 105 mm (h), presenting some overall creasing, and light scuffing and fraying of the edges, remaining better than fine.
