The document states that on behalf of the Higher Commander of the Flying Technical Schools, NCO Karl Wamsganz of the 1st Squadron of Fighter Wing 26 successfully completed an Equipment Administrator Sergeant (planes) course from September 15 to November 14, 1942. It is dated to Munich on November 14, 1942 and signed by three men, one of which is called Schaefer, the other two are indecipherable.
Footnote: Fighter Wing 26 usually operated over water, for which its pilots were specially trained. The 1st Squadron underwent changes in 1942 to be equipped for the use of air torpedos, and stationed in Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy. For most of the year they flew missions against Allied ship convoys in the Arctic Ocean, and starting in November they were tasked to try and repel the Allied fleet from reconquering the Mediterranean.
