A Soldbuch (salary booklet), measuring 107x149mm, extremely fine condition with light creasing. It is dated to Linz (Austria) on December 31, 1943.
Footnote: Josef Müller, Sen. was born on March 12, 1899 in Merţidort near Temeschburg (Timișoara, Romania). Before the war, he was a musician. During the war, he served with the Hilfspolizei (Auxiliary Police) and fought partisans. In 1943, Müller was an Unterwachtmeister (Junior Constable). Between June and October of 1943 alone, Müller fought in 32 battles, listed in the booklet. His unit for this time is unknown. Since October 12, 1943 he served in the 3rd Company of Police Guard Battalion 17. This battalion was deployed to the Balkans and later Slovakia in the fight against local partisans. Between January 10 and February 14, 1944 Müller was granted a vacation at home to regain his health. It is unknown what he suffered from. On May 1, 1944 he was promoted to Rottwachtmeister.
