Germany, Heer. A Private Wartime Photo Album with Over 100 Photographs, c.1941
A Second War 24-page photo album illustrating various scenes involving Army personnel photographed throughout training, marching, posing in groups, playing sports (running, soccer, and tug-of-war), shooting machine guns at the range, attending opening ceremonies, playing cards, and attending a funeral. Photographs of interest include several of the same Feldwebel (Sergeant) in profile, reading a map, posing in groups, and conducting military exercises. Additional photographs of interest include those documenting the visit of Croatian military commander Slavko Kvaternik (1878-1947), recipient of the Iron Cross First Class. Also, various family portraits are spread throughout the photo album. The album measures 330 mm (w) x 203 mm (l) x 30 mm (h), the album outside shows wear on the edges and the photographs are in extremely fine condition.
