Germany, Heer. A 1937 Panzerabwehr-Abteilung 22 Photo Album
(Panzerabwehr-Abteilung 22 Fotoalbum). An extremely well-preserved Panzerabwehr-Abteilung 22 commemorative photo album, constructed of a card stock binding with a green canvas exterior liner. The spin is perforated with dual eyelets at both the front and back, reinforced with magnetic metal grommets, through which is looped a multi-coloured drawstring, securely maintaining the structure of the album. The front cover features a raised and silvered Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, along with an inscription of “1. KOMP. PZ.-ABW.-ABTLG. 22”, and a date of “1937”. The interior content opens with a paper stock title page, followed by five pages of photographs of the Führer, Werner von Blomberg, Werner von Fritsch, Erich Raeder, and Hermann Göring. The album itself consists of 20 card stock pages pasted with eight photos, including images depicting unit training grounds in Bremen, a photo of the owner, and multiple group photos presumably depicting personnel of Panzerabwehr-Abteilung 22. All of the pages are separated by intact wax paper dividers, and most of the album remains unused. It measures 270 mm (w) x 190 mm (h) overall. Minor, age-appropriate wear and discolouration is evident, and the edge of the back cover displays what appears to be a small burn mark. The album is in an overall near extremely fine condition.
