A RAD Arbeitsgau 28 Franken Regiment Photo Album

A one-of-a-kind photo album of Karl Strunz of the RAD (Reichsarbeitsdienst/Reich Labour Service) Arbeitsgau 28 Franken Regiment,. This photo album encompasses 46 photographs that portray Karl Strunz and his regiment in the service of the RAD. This album has a total of 16 very large pages, with a light green card-stock cover embossed with the RAD symbol and unit identifiers. The pictures contained in this album depict this unit of the RAD during a variety of scenarios, including construction, saluting and marching practice, sports, life in the barracks, and posing with friends and members of the regiment for group photographs. The album measures 337 mm x 213 mm, and is in very fine condition, complete, with only one picture missing.

Footnote: The Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD) was a major organization during the Third Reich Era to help mitigate the effects of unemployment following the collapse of the European economy, to militarize the workforce, and to indoctrinate it with the National Socialist ideology of Germany. From June 1935 onwards, men aged between 18 and 25 had to serve 6 months of service prior to their compulsory military service.
