A 1933-1945 Pattern German State Railway Company Leader's Brocade Dress Belt with Buckle

(Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft): Buckle in silvered aluminum on the right end, maker marked with the stylized Assmann "A" (F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid) and marked "DRGM" (Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster) on the reverse, illustrating the winged wheel Reichsbahn insignia above a swastika, inscribed "DEUTSCHE" above and "REICHSBAHN" below, the buckle measuring 50.8 mm. Upper of the belt in fine aluminum wire, with two rows of aluminum wire and black embroidered dashes flanking a central row of dark navy blue embroidered dashes and interlaced with white threading, navy blue wool underside, smooth finished dark brown leather tab stitched in place on the underside on the left end, the tab with fourteen rows of two holes each for length adjustment, matching silvered aluminum receiving clip on the left end, two sliders on the belt with fine aluminum wire and embroidered uppers and dark navy blue wool backers, the one slider with an extended dark navy blue wool tab, the belt measuring 46 mm x 1,220 mm. Light crazing on the leather tab, the upper without interruptions in the fabric, the underside free of mothing. Near mint.

Angolia, who start collecting buckles, belts and brocades from 1944 until around 1990; most of the buckles were obtained from the American and German veterans; most of these buckles present a core of Angolia’s book “Belt Buckles & Brocades of the Third Reich”, published in 2001.
