Belt with a smooth finished black upper, raw underside, very flexible, aluminum receiving clip held firmly in place where the belt wraps around to the reverse on the left end, faded naming and initials in black ink on the underside, smooth finish dark leather tab stitched in place to the underside on the right end, with six rows of two holes each for length adjustment, the pair closet to the centre of the belt having been added by the owner, the upper exhibiting six non-punched holes at the tab end, with a pair punched through theupper just to the left of where the tab is stitched to the body of the belt, emboss stamped with the Carl Henkel Bielefeld maker mark on the open end of the tab, the belt measuring 42 mm x 1,050 mm. Light contact and crazing on the upper of the belt, scuffing present on the underside, very light crazing on the tab. Better than very fine.
Footnote: From the collection of approximately 900 German buckles accumulated by John R. Angolia, who start collecting buckles, belts and brocades from 1944 until around 1990; most of the buckles were obtained from the American and German veterans; most of these buckles present a core of Angolia’s book “Belt Buckles & Brocades of the Third Reich”, published in 2001.
