Germany, State Forestry Service. A Hesse/Baden Forestry Service Official’s Service Belt
(Hesse/Baden Förster Koppelschloss und Gürtel). Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse depicting a national eagle with open wings clutching a wreathed mobile swastika in its talons on a raised pebbled dome, surrounded by a full oak wreath tied together at the base of the belt buckle, the reverse hollow, with a soldered catch and a standard double-claw spring bar assembly, unmarked, measuring 48.81 mm in diameter. The belt is fabricated of thick leather, with a green upper and a natural coloured underside, featuring two matching sliders, with one end featuring a set of snap-close buttons to hold the buckle in place, the other side is partially lined with green wool, with a leather tab sewn to the belt with six sets of vertically oriented doubled-up holes for length adjustment, marked “100” for size, measuring 42 mm (w) x 1087 mm (h), a lightly worn example in overall near very fine condition.
