Hardshelled design on both the lid and base with a dark brown simulated leather-look cloth fabric exterior, the lid bearing the initials "R.F." (Republique Française) in the centre and an ornate border along the edge in gold-coloured ink, the inside of the lid lined in white satin and padded, a white cardboard insert placed within the base and housing a recessed medal bed in violet velvet, push latch closure, measuring 59 mm (w) x 116 mm (h) x 27.5 mm (d), wear and peeling evident on the exterior, along with wear in the fabric overlying the hinged area on the interior, fine.
