A Description of the Series of Medals Struck at the National Medal Mint by Order of Napoleon Bonaparte, Commemorating the Most Remarkable Battles and Events During His Dynasty, by Captain J.C. Laskey, published in London in 1818 by H.R. Young, bound in leather with gilt decorative borders on the front and back covers, containing 239 pages, with a frontispiece portrait of Napoleon, with wood-engraved vignettes throughout the text, presenting the owner’s label on inside cover for Nathanael Ellison, measuring 14.5 cm (w) x 23.1 cm (h), presenting major period repairs to binding, and in overall fair condition. Accompanied by an inventory list for items sold and delivered to Monsieur Ellison by the National Medal Mint, dated 1814, presenting handwriting in black ink, with two pages measuring 21.4 cm (w) x 32.8 cm (h), one page measuring 16.3 cm (w) x 21.7 cm (h), presenting numerous folding creases and soiling, and in fair condition.

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society. His knowledge and passion for history and awards is evident in this meticulously compiled collection that is now available in its entirety for the first time exclusively on eMedals.com.
