Police Cap Badge (bronze gilt insignia mounted to a green painted zinc disk, surrounded by an open-ended wreath of oak leaves, on an oval black wool base, measuring 51.5 mm (w) x 43.5 mm (h)); Award with Danish Coat-of-Arms (in silver gilt, hollow, engraved in running script "H.T.H. / 23. Hansen. / Y.D.R. / Hvidkilde / 29-8-43." on the reverse, measuring 47.5 mm (w) x 62.7 mm (h), with suspension loop); Danish Army Armoured Regiment (Gardehusarregimentet) Cap Badge (in bronze gilt, maker marked "MICHELSEN" on the reverse, measuring 38.8 mm (w) x 38 mm (h), both lugs intact); Royal Danish Air Force Badge (in bronze gilt, measuring 68.5 mm (w) x 17.7 mm (h), horizontal pinback); King Frederick IX Monogram Lapel Badge 1947-1972 (in bronze gilt, measuring 31.5 mm (w) x 38 mm (h), vertical pinback); and King Christian X Seventieth Birthday Commemorative Badge 1870-1940 (in silver with red enamels, maker marked "GJ" (Georg Jensen) and marked "925" (silver) on the reverse, measuring 13.8 mm (w) x 24 mm (h), button hole attachment). This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
