A Bulgarian Order of St. Alexander; Grand Cross with Swords Case & Carton
Hardshelled case is wooden-framed, with a red cloth cover, stamped in gold-coloured ink with the Bulgarian crown surmounting the cypher of Ferdinand I (1887-1918) above crossed swords with the identifying inscription of the order in cyrillic script on the lid, white satin lined inside lid, black velvet raised platform slotted medal bed, dual hook closure, dual-hinged, 125 mm x 272 mm x 56.5 mm, ghosted image of the formerly residing Breast Star showing on the white satin lining, near mint. In its paper sleeve of issue, greenish-gray exterior, with a cream-coloured underside, marked in black ink with the Bulgarian crown, the identifying inscription of the order in cyrillic script and a maker's mark, above crossed swords stamped in blue ink, with "Alexander" written in pencil below on the front, lift tab opening at the top, 130 mm x 280 mm x 60 mm, one piece missing at the top on the right side panel by the opening, nicks and edge wear, sleeve very fine.
