A grouping of Six Austrian-Hungarian cap badges and pins, consisting of 1) A Salzburg Protector Commemorative Badge; in gilt zink; vertical pinback; measuring 22 mm (w) x 36 mm (h). 2) A 12 Marksman Division Cap Badge; in silvered zink; horizontal pinback; marked “Gurschner, Wien” on the reverse; measuring 35 mm (w) x 39 mm (h). 3) A Hungarian Soldier & Wife Commemorative Badge; in zink; horizontal pinback; measuring 37 mm (w) x 32 mm (h). 4) A Hungarian 307 Division Cap Badge; bronzed zink; vertical pinback; measuring 26 mm (w) x 39 mm (h). 5) An Unknown Cap Badge; measuring 36 mm (w) x 35 mm (h); in overall better than fine condition. 6) A 1915 War Sponsor Badge; Constructed of gilt bronze with blue enamels; horizontal pinback; measuring 21 mm (w) x 27 mm (h); in overall extremely fine condition.


This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
