Croatian SS-Eisenstafel Collar Tabs & Cufftitle - Pair of collar tabs (kragenspiegel), in thick black wool, on one "SS" in white thread, the other plain, both well worn, good condition; Cufftitle, in thick black wool, with title "SS-Wache" (SS-Guard) in white thread, well worn, good/fine condition. Both removed from the uniform. This extremely rare pair of insignia was obtained directly from the descendant of the wearer (from Osijek, Croatia), who sold them to the Barac-Pervan auction house in Zagreb, Croatia; subsequently the insignia appeared in their auction of 7.6.2008, lot 377, 378. German minority in Croatia was very well organized during late 1930?s, establishing among other pro-Nazi organizations (these organizations were not banned, or prosecuted) like a local SS-Eisenstafel. Uniforms, flags, awards, basic equipment and other propaganda material were locally made; well known maker of uniforms, flags, and other cloth insignia/material was company "LZM - Zeugmeisterei" Uniform-Bezugsgenossenschaft m.b.H., in Essegg (Osijek, Croatia), and almost certainly a maker of the above insignia. Company advertised prominently in the "1943 Jahrebuch Der Deutchen Volksguppe in Kroatien".
