Venezuela, Republic. An Order of Francisco de Miranda, II. Class Commander Breast Star, Type II, by N.S. Meyer Inc., c. 1950

 (Orden Francisco de Miranda). Instituted August 28th, 1939. (Type II: 1943 to present), c. 1950 issue. Constructed of gilded silver, consisting of an eight-pointed star consisting of rays of varying lengths, the obverse with a central finely enameled red medallion circumscribed “Francisco de Miranda” in capitalized lettering within a silvered laurel wreath, the reverse plain, with a functional vertical pinback assembly, the reverse with a central medallion marked “N.S. Meyer Inc. New York” denoting manufacture of late 1940s to early 1950s, measuring 76.0 mm (w) x 76.1 mm (l), weighing 59.75 grams, the maker marked medallion slightly off-center with glue remains visible, with extremely minor flecking to the enamels from age and wear, in overall near extremely fine condition.
