Cap Badge: in browning copper, measuring 44.3 mm (w) x 47.5 mm (h), one lug bent back but intact, the other having been lost to time; and Collar Tab: in browning copper, measuring 26.7 mm (w) x 29.3 mm (h), lugs bent back but intact. Near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Eaton Machine Gun Battery was mobilized on January 1, 1915, under the patronage of Sir John Craig Eaton and arrived in England on June 15th. In January 1916, the name was changed to the Eaton Motor Machine Gun Battery. When the battery arrived in France on February 26th, it served as part of the 3rd Canadian Division. From July 1916 to June 1918, it was transferred to the 1st Canadian Motor Machine Gun Brigade as D Battery, and the troops were allowed to wear their own badges. In June 1918, the battery was absorbed into the 2nd Canadian Motor Machine Gun Battery as B Battery.
